60’s Smile
 
Peace and love are what this “groovy” centerpiece is all about. It’s big, it’s bold’ it’s colorful and it is all 100% balloons.
 
60's SmileIngredients:

  • 4 – 11” latex balloons with polka dot print. You could substitute any colorful agate balloons as well.
  • 14 color 5” latex balloons.
  • 4 – 360 (or 350) balloons, bright colors of your choice.
  • 9” air-filled foil peace sign balloon or could substitute a smile face foil or latex balloon
  • 1 – 18” foil smile face design balloon.
  • 1 heavy weight for base
  • 2’ of 25 lb. monofilament

Assembly:

  • Place the weight on a table.
  • Inflate with air the 4 – 11” latex balloons with polka dot print to 8” and create a four balloon cluster.
  • Attached the 2’ of 25 lb. monofilament to this four balloon cluster.
  • Wrap the 11” four balloon cluster around the weight leaving about 18” of monofilament exposed.
  • Inflate with air 4 – 5” latex balloons using assorted colors to 4” and create a four balloon cluster.
  • Wrap the 5” balloon cluster on top of the 11” balloon cluster using the monofilament line leaving about 12” of monofilament exposed.
  • Inflate three 360 (or 350) latex balloons leaving about an inch of uninflated balloon left on top of each of them.
  • Tie all three 360 (or 350) balloons together and tie this cluster on top of the previous two clusters you have created.
  • Inflate 6 – 5” latex balloons to 3” and tie together in pairs
  • Twist one 360 (or 350) in the middle of the balloon, twisting it three times round and tie a pair of 5” balloons at the twist point. Repeat with all 360 (or 350) balloons.
  • Tie the three 360 (or 350) balloons together.
  • Inflate with air 4 – 5” latex balloons using assorted colors to 4” and create the final four balloon cluster.
  • Attach the final cluster to the top of the three 360 (or 350) balloons.
  • Inflate the 18” foil smile face balloon with helium and attach to the top of the piece on top of the final four balloon cluster.
  • Tie the 9” foil balloon into the center of the piece on top of the base clusters of balloons.
